The Dead Sea Scrolls, so ancient and fragile that direct light cannot shine on them, are now available to search and read online in a project launched today by the Israel Museum and Google Inc.“Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it accessible and useful,” said Yossi Matias, managing director of Google’s R&D Center in Israel.“This gives you a way to understand the beginning of biblical history,” said museum director James Snyder. “Nothing could be more important.” http://dss.collections.imj.org.il/

The Dead Sea Scrolls are
The Dead Sea Scrolls are among the best-known and most essential old documents discovered in years. The ancient files are mainly stored in museums in the Middle East. The biggest collection of Dead Sea Scrolls has been housed in the Israel Museum. The museum has experienced criticism about the restricted access they supply to the files. Now, worldwide admittance to the files is being provided on the internet. The Israel Museum and Google have partnered to offer the access to these files. Digitized Dead Sea Scrolls providing worldwide access also features history of the scroll in particular as well as other multimedia content. I think this is a very bright idea. Not only that the present generation can see it but also the new generations in the future.
