 Stop!: City's plan to fill positions left vacant by recent layoffs has been put on hold - A temporary restraining issued Wednesday prevents the City of Cleveland from implementing its staffing plan designed to manage vacancies created by layoffs that took affect on Monday Jan. 11.

 CLEVEALND, OH (WOIO channel 19) - 
A new plan intended to juggle city workers around has been put on hold.
 
A temporary restraining issued Wednesday prevents the City of Cleveland from implementing its staffing plan designed to manage vacancies created by layoffs that took affect on Monday Jan. 11. 
 
The plan included using Battalion Chief Aides to back fill open firefighter positions as needed based on daily staffing levels. The duties of Battalion Chief Aides' include driving Battalion Chiefs to the scene of the fire.
 
 
 
      What this means is that Ladder 42 on Pearl Road will be browned out however the engine company at that
     station will still  be staffed.
    Additionally, The Fire Chief will create a "task force" operation at the firehouse located at 3700 Woodland Avenue,
     reducing the number of firefighters on the two apparatus from 8 to 6.
      Local 93 has not yet voted to accept or reject the 4 percent reduction...
      That would keep all of their membership employed and staffing levels the same. 
 
 
 
 
Until a vote approving concessions takes place and/or the TRO is lifted the aforementioned plan will remain in effect. 
The Union is not expected to vote until some time next week.
