Appointments can be made beginning the morning of Monday, Oct. 25, by calling a number that will be made available then on the MedWorks website, medworksusa.org, or by calling the office at 216-231-5350. The number will also be printed that day in The Plain Dealer, posted on cleveland.com and broadcast on WKYC Channel 3.
 
Representatives of the Ohio Benefit Bank also will be available to help patients apply for Medicaid as well as food, energy, housing and other assistance.
 
"Each person will have an opportunity to meet with a social worker and will be given information about resources they can seek out after the clinic," said MedWorks Executive Director Karil Bialostosky.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Northeast Ohio residents with no insurance can get free medical and dental appointments, mammograms, flu shots, X-rays and lab tests when the nonprofit Medworks offers another weekend of free health care in Cleveland on Nov. 6 and 7. This time, the group is working in conjunction with the community health center Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health.
 
The services are designed to help those who have no insurance or so little that they can't afford to pay for medical, dental and other health care.
 
Representatives of the Ohio Benefit Bank also will be available to help patients apply for Medicaid as well as food, energy, housing and other assistance.

The November clinic will be held at the Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health office at 8300 Hough Ave.

Those interested in volunteering to work as health-care providers or to staff the phone line can call 216-231-5350 or check the website. Nonmedical volunteers who would like to help in other ways should call Greater Cleveland Volunteers at 216-391-9500.
 
"Medical volunteers, please sign up now," Bialostosky said. "Without you, we won't be able to serve the people in our community who need it most."
 
Medworks, formed in 2009, works with medical and lay volunteers, corporate donors, health-care organizations and others to provide free health care in the Cleveland area.
 
This will be its sixth free clinic.
 
At its last weekend of care, in May, about 700 people were treated at 2,000 medical, dental and vision appointments at the Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland.
