Operation 911, PNAC (panic) and the "War on Terror"Submitted by Eternity on Mon, 06/15/2009 - 14:10.
Max Eternity - The catalyzing event of the 911 terrorist attacks set into motion a domestic and global transformation, which radically altered how the American government, led by its executive (White House) branch, would conduct itself at home and abroad. In short, under the guise of national security, it gave the Bush-Cheney White House a license to plunder, maim and kill with neither remorse nor impunity. Now 8 years later, this radical restructing of goernment practice and policy appears to have slow-walked the United states from an egalitarian democrary to a wannabe, imperialist, police state. We may not be there yet, but an endless supply of lawyers, journalist and scholars have indicated that we are well on our way. But isn't that why Europeans fled to America all those years ago, to escape the clutches of hegemony and imperialism? People wanted democracy then, and they seem to also want it now. A healthy democracy is of no resemblance to imperialstic junta. And in a 3 minute and 14 second video (see below) Scott Ritter succinctly substantiatew how and why such is not the case, can never be the case. Coupled with these power trips run amok, what about pre-911? In other words, before 911, who wanted -- needed -- 911 to occur? Reflect a moment and ask, who benefited most, Osama Bin Laden or George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and friends? Well, aside from the Bush-Cheney "evidence" making up the official story that squarely places the blames on rabid, anti-democracy Muslims who hate our freedoms, other documented facts point in different direction. Strangely, the facts seem to point back to the accusers...Bush and Cheney. Take for instance the Project for a New American Century's "Rebuilding America's Defenses" document, written in 2000. The document, found here, in its many pages, states among other things that:
Well, 911 certainly qualifies as a catalyzing event. Still, in and of itself, the PNAC document alone is no smoking gun. But it should be of interest to inquiring minds, especially when one discovers who its endorsees were; like Scotter LIbby and Paul Wolfowitz for instance. The full list of endorsees: Roger Barnett Alvin Bernstein Stephen Cambone Eliot Cohen Devon Gaffney Cross Thomas Donnelly David Epstein David Fautua Dan Goure Donald Kagan Fred Kagan Robert Kagan Robert Killebrew William Kristol Mark Lagon James Lasswell I. Lewis Libby Robert Martinage Phil Meilinger Mackubin Owens Steve Rosen Gary Schmitt Abram Shulsky Michael Vickers Barry Watts Paul Wolfowitz Dov Zakheim
