STREET CUT AND HOLE NEAR 710 JEFFERSON - LEFT BY CONTRACTORS - CITY SAYS MUST BE FIXED BY 12/18/09Submitted by jerleen1 on Fri, 12/18/2009 - 12:29.
FYI ******************************************************************* From: Hartnett-Mercado, Traci
Rob I met with Ronald Stolz yesterday. I discussed with him how leaving this pavement in this condition is unacceptable. People are driving around the north lane and driving right into on coming traffic going east bound, due to the way his company left this hole.. He wanted to wait until next week to repair; I explained this MUST be done by 12/18/09. I also explained the walk must also be fixed. I told him he must either permanently repair or a temporary repair until Monday. Either by recessed plates or asphalt. Also side walk (over this weekend only,) will be closed and rerouted on the south side with proper signage. But must be opened on Monday 12/21/09 after it is fixed. Also he stated he wanted to do the permanent restoration in the early spring. I explained he WILL be responsible to maintain this area over the winter. Also if any plates are placed he must call Snow Bird to inform. Any questions let me know. I will stop out there this afternoon again and call him this morning. Thanks Traci

This is the response to my e-mails to the Division of Street Repiar and the Mayor's Action Hot line advising them that this damage to the street was negligently left uncovered and unguarded creating a hazardous situation for motorists by way of possible accidents, injuries and damage to vehicles.
They promptly responded and made assurances that the street repairs/remedies would be taken care of immediately.
