What does sexism feel like for a woman?Submitted by lmcshane on Mon, 07/04/2016 - 10:58.
It feels like a slap in the face. It feels like someone telling you that when you "complain" then you are going to be labeled "negative," but when a man does it, it is valid "criticism." It feels like you are only supposed to use your voice to say "I am sorry" and "I am wrong." Or, to say that something is really, really nice and pretty. It feels like you are being bullied and shoved into a corner, and being told you have no right to an opinion, because, if you do voice an opinion - you must be parroting the views of your male "cronies." That is what sexism feels like to me. Being marginalized - and being told to put up and shut up.
