YOUR CHANCE TO ASK O.D.O.T. QUESTIONS at Open House June 22Submitted by Oldroser on Wed, 06/15/2011 - 14:53.
I got a postcard in the mail and the Tremont West Events and Updates dated June 14 also lists what Project Manager Craig Hebebrand characterized in an email to me as an Open House. ODOT and Walsh/HNTB construction Team will present informational updates on the Innerbelt Bridge project and there willl be a Q&A Session Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Sokolowski's University Inn, 1201 University Road in the Rear Party Room. You are requested to park adjacent to the restaurant on the dirt lot, leaving the University Ave. side free so the elderly and physicallly challeged attendees have easier parking access. Ask about purchase of Norfolk Southern land! Support my campaign against all those maple tree seedlings and for rugosa roses!! Question the security problems of a large, largely vacant parking lot!!! Ask why ODOT is putting a parking lot in just for TWDC and how will TWDC pay for its maintenance!!!! Do they really think valet parking is going to drive all that way? I haven't yet posted where Director Brown, in response to my questions about how maintence of the lot and any upgrades needed later would be funded, asked Chris Garland of TWDC. Director Brown said that Chris replied that "they have not worked on the details yet." How irresponsible can you get!

ODOT garage
I am told that ODOT plans to excavate from Abbey down to the Cuyahoga River and build a garage up from there. The ground level would be next to the river, ending at street level on Abbey under the bridge. That is quite an expensive garage. I find it hard to believe that this would be just for the Tremont area, and wonder if this is a combined Tremont and casino related parking facility.
I wonder where the plans are, as well as the budget.
