Here's an opportunity to hear one of the world's most acclaimed writers on the Nuclear Age. Jonathan Schell, author of the landmark 1982 book, "Fate of the Earth," will speak at Case Law School, Monday, April 12, from 12 noon to 1 pm. The program is free and open to the public. Case Western Reserve University 12:00 Noon - 1:00 p.m. 11075 East Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio 44106 Law School - Moot Courtroom (A59) Global Security Lecture Speaker: Jonathan Schell Distinguished Lecture in Global Security Law and Policy presented by the Institute for Global Security Law and Policy Doris Shaffer Fellow The Nation Institute Jonathan Schell is the Peace and Disarmament Correspondent for The Nation, and also writes for Harper’s Magazine, The Atlantic, Foreign Affairs, and Tomdispatch.com. He is the author of 13 books. The most recent is The Seventh Decade: The New Shape of the Nuclear Danger. A staff writer at The New Yorker magazine from 1967 to 1987, he is now a senior visiting lecturer in international studies at Yale University where he teaches a course on the nuclear dilemma. Mr. Schell's other books include The Unconquerable World (Metropolitan, 2003) and The Fate of the Earth (Knopf, 1982),which first appeared in three parts in The New Yorker, became a best-seller and was hailed by The New York Times as "an event of profound historical moment."
