Windermere Renaissance (WR) was chartered as an Ohio non-profit corporation in 2004. WR was sponsored by the Windermere Taskforce, which was organized in 2000

1. to repair and refurbish Windermere United Methodist Church
2. to initiate professional family service programs and other services
3. to stimulate the development of the Windermere neighborhood in East Cleveland

The Taskforce raised and spent more than $3,000,000 for repairs to the church and for new child-care and family service programs.  While church refurbishing and program development continue, WR was formed to explore the development of new housing and other facilities in the neighborhood. Our current focus is obtaining a former nursing residence for green rehab and use as ElderSpirit Community(r) cooperative housing.
