Next Trip To The Inner Circle, Visit "Inner Circle"Submitted by Norm Roulet on Fri, 08/10/2007 - 08:49.
08/10/2007 - 12:00 08/10/2007 - 16:00 Etc/GMT-4 An important addition was made to The John and Mildred Putnam Sculpture Collection, located on the campus of Case Western Reserve University and the grounds of University Circle, with the installation of a fantastic steel sculpture by masterful sculptor and Cleveland Institute of Art President David Deming, which is titled "Inner Circle". Located by the Case residential village, across from the Starbucks, at the intersection of East 115th, Juniper and Bellflower, this work is a great addition to an important art collection, curated by Evelyn Kiefer, that makes University Circle a much more inspiring and remarkable place, with public art. Learn more about the Putnam Collection at a site Evelyn and I are developing for it, linked here ("Inner Circle" is not included there yet), and see their "Inner Circle" for yourself, next time you are around Case... on your way to The Inner Circle, perhaps... we'll be hanging out there this afternoon, if you'd like to stop by from around noon - 4 PM... feel free to check on the progress at 1894 Roxbury while your in the area. Location
The Inner Circle Restaurant, at Hough Bakeries
1519 Lakeview Road
East Cleveland, OH United States

Deming's best yet?
David Deming is a very talented and prolific sculptor with a very diverse body of work. I am amazed that he can simultaneously run one the world's best art schools and maintain a career as a sculptor. What an inspiration to CIA students!
Though I am biased, I think this is his best work yet. I saw the drawings and models from the earliest stages, I knew Inner Circle was going to be impressive, but, when I first saw it the afternoon after it was installed I was still startled by how great it looks.
Coincidence? I think not!
Jesting title aside, I checked out this curatory curation and was quite intrigued and impressed. I have really developed a penchant for poetry and all sorts of other art forms - sculpture, of course, included. Impressive.
As for Exciting East Cleveland developments for the Inner Circle club and Star Neighborhood Development - there is so much great stuff brewing. I've taken the lead on an innovative computer collections, training and deployment program that should really ramp up our prior efforts primed years ago. And I've already made some key contacts which should be lucrative leads for this effort. Once I have more fully defined the game plan (coming to a RealNEO posting near you!) I'll focus on driving real and lasting outcomes for this program.
As for future deployment possibilities, I am quite enthused by the potentials for these as well.
Life is good!
Inner Circle Photographs
I stumbled upon this last week while taking pictures of Wade Oval Wednesday and the surrounding neighborhood. I was particularly intrigued by the way the light played across the brushed metal. I've posted the Inner Circle photos from that day on Flickr for those who would like to see more.
Norm has competition!
In a word--FABULOUS!
