Please join 1point618 gallery and Robert Maschke Architects Inc. in welcoming acclaimed artist, Judith Brandon to the gallery’s exhibit, BLACK AND BLUE. At the February 1, 2008 opening reception you will have an opportunity to view the show and to meet Ms Brandon. The exhibit runs through March 30, 2008.  Black and Blue is a series of works that explore Judith Brandon’s stream of consciousness articulated as subtle explosions on paper. Depicted as watery landscapes, this collection emphasizes a range of black and blue hues.  These works are of a bruised planet, capable of healing and capable of failing, expressed through multiple layers of ink and line. The layers coalescence to express a mood which captures the narrow space that lies between beauty and destruction -- an effect that inspires viewers to speculate on which way the landscape will turn. The gallery is located at6421 Detroit Avenue (on street parking on Detroit Avenue or in the rear parking lot off of West 65th Street)Cleveland, Ohio 44102216.281.1618          www.1point618gallery.com

I know and love the work of a bunch of these artists and give huge props to this gallery for giving Detroit Shoreway a lift and putting together such an excellent salon. I've known John Pearson and Audra Skoudas since I can remember knowing anyone and have always had a special place in my heart of their work - it is easy to find examples of Johns work all over, but Aurda is a more hidden treasure - see what she has here and keep your eyes open for an openhouse at their awesome Oberlin studio... I believe they do that each holiday season and I'll make a point to promote it here!

While you are checking out this group show, be sure to stop in Gypsy Beans next door for some of the best food and beverages in town!
