That is the topic of the Literary Ventures Fund (LVF) panel discussion to be held:
This Thursday, October 23rd at 6:00 p.m Cleveland Public Library Louis Stokes Wing Auditorium 325 Superior Avenue***CANCELLED With regret we announce the cancellation of the Literary Ventures Fund panel discussion "Could Fitzgerald and Hemingway Get Published Today?" The moderator of the panel withdrew today due to a last-minute scheduling conflict. Please notify anyone to whom you have extended the invitation. Someone will be on hand at the auditorium on Thursday from 5:30-6:30 to notify anyone who does not receive this notice of cancellation.
The panelists include novelist Stephen Shem (aka Stephen J. Bergman), author of The House of God and Mount Misery; Jim Bildner, founder and director of the LVF; Mary Bisbee-Beek, LVH Director of Publicity, and Suzanne DeGaetano, owner/operator of Mac's Backs Books and president of The Lit (formerly The Poets & Writers League of Greater Cleveland).
The Literary Ventures Fund provides financial aid and expertise to support small presses and works in partnership with publishers, booksellers and book clubs. The objective of LVH is "to invest in literature that can stand the test of time."

Created as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, The Buckeye Book Fair begain in 1987 as a literary event to raise funds to support literacy. Librarians and literacy program administrators may register at the Book Fair Information table to receive a 2009 grant application. $2400+ in grant proceeds were distributed in 2008.
