New Year’s Day -- Tuesday, January 1, 2019 -- was a typical but nice Cleveland day – totally overcast with no snow and no rain either.

It was 37 deg. F (3 deg, C) – and I was all bundled up to play solo tennis.

There was no wind.

It was all quiet except for the roar of the occasional plane overhead.

I played for 2-hours.

For a short while I was joined by young Garfield School scholars – Tabasum Fatima (3rd grade) and Imran Ali (5th grade). Both took tennis lessons during the past summer and were hitting the balls left and right – and obviously I was no match for them.

A few people were out – walking alone or with their dogs.
